The printing shall be legible and in a contrasting color. Color used for identification coding shall be in
accordance with MIL-STD-681. All number 1 conductors shall be identified. The printed marking shall be
located along the reference edge of the cable at 12 inch (305 mm) maximum repeat. Marking is required
on cables with 0.050 inch (1.3 mm) (or wider spacing of conductors (see figure 1)).
