1.2.5.1 Component. Cables are identified by the two-letter symbol "RG".
1.2.5.2 Number. The number indicates a particular type of cable which has been designed with certain
electrical and physical characteristics specified herein. The number comprises one or more digits with or
without a letter (A, B, C, etc.) and is preceded by a hyphen. The letter indicates a modification of the basic
type.
1.2.5.3 Basic indicator. The basic specification for which a cable has been designed is indicated by the
symbol "/U" denoting general utility. This classification includes two or more general installation classes:
airborne, shipboard, and ground.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 General. The documents listed in this section are specified in sections 3, 4, or 5 of this
specification. This section does not include documents cited in other sections of this specification or
recommended for additional information or as examples. While every effort has been made to ensure the
completeness of this list, document users are cautioned that they must meet all specified requirements
cited in sections 3, 4, or 5 of this specification, whether or not they are listed.
