5. RESULTS
5.1 Calculation. The thickness of the tape at any point shall be calculated as follows:
Thickness, inch=D1-D2

where:
D1=the diameter over the tape at the point measured, inches.
D2=the diameter over the core at the point measured, inches.
5.2 Unless otherwise specified in the detail specification, three specimens from each inspection unit shall
be tested.
5.3 The average thickness of the tape of the inspection unit shall be the average of the results obtained
from the specimens tested.
5.4 The minimum thickness of the tape of the inspection unit shall be the smallest of all values averaged
in determining the average thickness, 5.3.
5.5 The average thickness and minimum thickness of the tape of the inspection unit shall be recorded to
the nearest mil or 0.0001 inch.
