DETAIL SPECIFICATION
WIRE, ELECTRICAL, SILICONE-INSULATED,
COPPER, 600-VOLT, 200ēC
Inactive for new design after 01 June 1998.
This specification is approved for use by all Departments
and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers single conductor wire with a silicone primary insulation capable of
continuous operation at 600 volts and a maximum conductor temperature of 200°C (392°F). These wires
are suitable for use in aircraft and missiles using any combination of electrical loading and ambient
temperature, provided the maximum conductor temperature is not exceeded. The wires covered by this
specification are not intended as fire-resistant wires.
1.2 Classification. Single conductor insulated wire as specified in the applicable MS sheet (see 6.2).
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

specification. This section does not include documents cited in other sections of this specification or
recommended for additional information or as examples. While every effort has been made to ensure the
